Stop 6 of the English Sport Bowling Tour rolled into Shipley in West Yorkshire in the first weekend of October. The ESBT stated early on the pattern would be 42ft and 35ml who will figure it out?
Saturday
A strong field on the Saturday saw three figure it out as Left hander Hadley Morgan blasted a 226 average and 1814 for the eight game block. Brandon Roberts in second with 1717 (214) and Mike Quarry in third with 1714 (214). Top female early on was Charlotte Rathbone with a 198 average 1590 ahead of Jessica Sillis with 1556 (194).
Sunday
The day started with Rob Thurlby riding the Shipley rollercoaster with 128, 198 then a perfect!! 300 game followed by 148, 189, 146, 210 and 234 for 1553 (194). Taking the block was Gavin Greaves with 1607 (200).
The final squad of the day saw ESBT Supremo Lee Chatfield with a shaky 146 but then firing 266,232,204,222,177 and 197 to place 4th overall at the end. Hadley Morgan claiming the win with 1814 (226). In the ladies it was Charlotte Rathbone holding on for the win with 1590 after a run on Sunday by Sophie Thompson who placed third with 1554 and just two pins behind second placed Jessica Sillis with 1556.
