Thank you all, 177 people entered the senior nationals at Mansfield this year. This included 35 teams of four, 172 in the All Events, 35 teams of four and 76 teams of doubles and 175 singles entrants. The numbers do not quite appear to add up however this is caused by the inclusion this year of Super Seniors Divisions for those over 64.

Our priorities whilst checking and analysing the scores from this two week event included checking that your averages were those submitted at the time of entry, and ensuring many achievements possible were rewarded with a part of the almost £7000 Record Prize Fund. To this end whilst we have paid out to approximately 1 in every ten entries in each category, we have also identified and rewarded some good scoring along the way.

The main target of course is to win something in the All Events categories as that shows consistency throughout the event but well done to all winners and runner ups in every category. As you will see from the scoring spreadsheet a few additional spot prizes have, where appropriate, as usual since Sunderland 2019, been awarded in each division.

Thank you sincerely for your support and patience, you will see from the attached spreadsheet that it was quite a complicated job with 18 divisions this year! And thank you to my committee, Baz, Anth and Dave M. as well as to Chris and Dave S. for ably stepping in the first weekend. Paul Loberman has been a really great help throughout the last six months as Tournament Co-ordinator at the BTBA. Ron Griffin has always offered guidance too, thank you Ron.

As to next year, the plans are already made. We will be switching to a three day event over each of two weekends, with squads on the Fridays as well as the usual Saturdays and Sundays. The weekends will be 5th-7th and 12th-14th May 2023 and the venue on this occasion will be Shipley Bowl. Thank you Jeff Taylor and initial local co-ordinator Ian Kennedy. We will continue with the Super Seniors which was trialled this year and was well received. Bookmark the dates please and we shall open for entries in 2023 after sanction has been applied for and received. Dave Malpas has also offered to continue with his superb support.

And thank you sincerely to those of you who personally thanked members of the committee and myself for organising, your comments were warmly enjoyed and appreciated. Mansfield bowl was indeed a credit to the tournament with a virtually non stop event. Thank you all.

John Strettle, Tournament Manager.
