TENPIN BOWLING IS BACK IN WALES!

Families in Wales have begun to enjoy another slice of normality, after the Welsh Government lifted restrictions further, allowing the Tenpin centres in Swansea, Cardiff and Wrexham to reopen (Wednesday 5th August 2020).

Wales is the first country in the UK to allow Tenpin bowling centres to reopen with those located in England and Scotland remaining shut for now.

Tenpin has been working hard behind the scenes to ensure it is safe for customers to return and enjoy their visit with a number of new measures now in place.

These include, reducing lane capacity and the capacity of the overall centre. As Government guidance states that only six people can meet indoors, the maximum lane capacity has been reduced to six, with every other lane not in use, to ensure social distancing. Between every booking, the lane area and all the bowling balls will be sanitised with additional hand sanitisers available for customers throughout the centre.

Tenpin have designed a new way for customers to order delicious food and drinks online, straight from their phone which are then delivered straight to the lane or seating areas which are now strategically spaced to adhere to social distancing measures.  Disposable menus are also available on site. Tenpin are taking part in the UK Government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme with 50% discount applied to food and soft drinks every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in August, subject to the terms and conditions of the scheme, up to a maximum discount of £10 per person.

The centres are following all the social distancing guidelines set out by the Government with social distancing stickers and posters throughout the centres and if a pool table is not able to meet these guidelines it has an “out of order” sign on it. All cues, balls and other high hand contact items will be cleaned at the start of each day, throughout the day and at the request of any customers. The same applies to the arcade area with increased sanitation, machines not able to adhere to the guidelines turned off and social distancing measures in place.

Tenpin is advising all customers to book on-line and use the new online service to purchase food and drinks to reduce the contact points but for those who do use the tills, Perspex screens have been installed. The Tenpin team are all wearing protective face shields and have the option to wear face-covering if they wish. They communicate with each other by radio to reduce the need to stand together for any length of time.

A Tenpin team member will welcome you at the new meet and greet station at the entrance and the track and trace system will require one person per booking to provide details to comply with Government legislation.

General Manager of Tenpin in Swansea, Liam Reilly said “We are delighted to be able to reopen and start to welcome back our customers. The health and safety of our customers and colleagues is our priority and as the Tenpin centres here in Swansea and in Cardiff and Wrexham are all very spacious, this has enabled us to implement social distancing measures throughout. This along with increased sanitation and cleaning routines will ensure all our customers have an enjoyable visit.

“As the new measures include reducing the capacity of the centres, we strongly advise customers to book in advance on-line. We also ask that customers now always wear their own shoes, so please refrain from wearing open toes, heels or wedges as these cannot be worn.

“Some of the measures will be very familiar to people who have experienced social distancing measures and hand sanitisers in shops and restaurants but if anyone has any questions about any of the safety measures we have put in place they can visit the dedicated page of the Tenpin website at www.tenpin.co.uk/your-safety/ where there is also a video to watch or they can speak to the General Manager or any member of the team at the centres.”
