The Power Play Shipley New Year Re-Entry Doubles

Another Excellent Tournament held at Go Bowling Shipley on the 31st December 2017 & 7th January 2018.

We had a total of 70 teams over 8 squads turn up and there were some excellent scoring. Out of the 70 teams that bowled 9 teams re-entered with the same partners. In total 67 bowlers bowled, some every squad and others just the once. All in all an amazing turn out
It was good to see loads of different bowlers with lots of different styles from the North, South, East and West acting like a huge respected family.

I want to thank Terri-Anne Faulconbridge, Chelsey Dolan and all the others that helped to run the excellent event especially when I was bowling.

I would also like to thank Jeff Taylor and his Staff for letting us use his centre again all day with a great lineage price and specials on at the Lanes Diner.

I want to give a big shout out to Adrian Alderson on his 1st ever perfect 300 game (you will get a go bowling 300 award striking shirt when we have finished designing it lol ) and to Steve Kay who on the same lanes in the same game had a 299 well done guys.
We bowled on the Kegel Navigation Recreational Pattern ‘Main Street’ which played a tad on the dry side due to our high friction Xima lane surface but this did not seem to faze many bowlers.

We paid out 10 positions with a total of £1020.00 and we had prizes for high male game and series and high female game and series these came to £100.00

We also ran an optional scratch pot. This cost the bowler an extra £5.00 per squad and they could enter as many or as little squads they would like. We ended up with 54 entries and paid out in a 1:6 ratio (9 Places) with a total of £270.00.

Part of this tournament was to raise funds for Shipley’s ever growing Youth Bowling Club so part of the entry fee (10p per bowler) went to the YBC so this came to £14.00. On top of the entry fee we also ran 6 strike balls, 1 per squad excluding the 1st overflow squad these were paid out 50% to the winner and 50% to the YBC this raised £62.00, so another big thank you to all bowlers who played the strike balls as the total raised for Shipley Youth was an amazing £76.00.

The tournaments average for all 70 teams came to an outstanding 193.8
